Since November 2000, Dr. Rainer Zitelmann has commented events and trends in the German real estate industry almost weekly in the German version of GERMAN REAL ESTATE NEWS, a biweekly newsletter published in English by the Dr. ZitelmannPB. GmbH, for which he was managing director until 2015.

While the commentaries initially limited themselves to topics of the real estate and investment fund industry in the narrow sense and to related fiscal issues, Dr. Rainer Zitelmann expanded their scope in 2007 to pick up on developments in the world’s financial markets, too.

Quite a stir was created in the industry by one sceptical commentary that Dr. Rainer Zitelmann published under the headline “Best Not to Ignore the Risks” on 29. January 2007, when the euphoria on the real estate market was at its highest. The commentary warned emphatically against a financial crash, and included the recommendation to buy gold bullion.

The purpose of “Zitelmann’s Finance Blog” is to publish selected commentaries of Dr. Dr. Rainer Zitelmann, starting with the ones from January 2007.

Zitelmann has been awarded two doctorates:
